The simpler the better. The Encino velodrome is a good example of a velodrome still operating since the 50 s. You take the lock off the gate and if it's at night, you turn on the lights and that's it. The San Diego velodrome is similar. The old Dominquez Hills Olympic velodrome saw very little use because it was difficult to operate. It was beautiful but expensive so it wasn't used often. Probably had more rock concerts on it than track races. Might think about having an inline skate track on the same site. Finally, for the pros and elite riders, a steep banked track is great but I wouldn't bank it anymore than the old Dominguez Hills Olympic track.
